ASUS EEE PC- My New Netbook
Its been long time since I was planning to get a new Notebook since my HP DV2000 was ageing and needed memory upgrades. Netbooks were getting more and more popular these days and I got this idea of getting a Netbook instead of the Notebook. This new machine is for my wife who will also be blogging. So we decided that Netbook was a better choice. I quickly checked out the reviews of most of the Netbook available and found that ASUS EEE PC was rated as the best, very close the Acer. I decided to get ASUS EEE PC 1000HA model for 21k. Here are specifications and photos of my Netbook.
Specifications of ASUS EEE PC;
- Intel Atom Processor 1.6 Ghtz
- 1GB RAM
- 160 GB Hard Disk
- 7 Hour Battery
- Windows XP
- 3 USB Ports
- Wi-Fi and Ethernet cable port
- MMC SD Card Reader
- In build speaker
- 10GB EEE Online Storage
Overall I’m very much satisfied with the performance and now I’m planning to install Windows 7 home version once it is released along with Windows XP.

Seeemply Superb!! how much time does it take to fully charge? For me the best adv. is its portability/price/looks/. I’m using Eee PC Netbook 900. Touchpad has multitouch capability. Also can zoom-in and out photos by pinching, i didn’t knew this , recently came to know. Also it must be having a D-Sub port for projector.
@Vasudev,
Not checked the time it takes to charge. The looks and the battery life is really awesome. Yea it has a port for projectors also.
I didnt get the photo zooming thing. can you pls explain that..
vasudev is saying about “Multi-touch pad of easily zoom in/out” – http://eeepc.asus.com/global/product1101ha.html?n=0
Just like on ipod/surface, you squeeze-in with two fingers to zoom-in and squeeze out to zoom-out any picture, the same touch motion is there by default on the touchpad. As some laptops dont have it by default, may have to install drivers but eee pc has it. Also two finger scroll action is there.
nice one..
Almost all new laptops having this multitouch zooming facility in its touchpad..
How about this Atom processor? I never touched it til now…hwz the performance? Can you compare its performance with any tradtional processors to compare the speed?
Thanks
