Driving with Mobile Phone will Attract Fine of Rs 5000
People using mobiles while driving beware, the Central Govt of India is planning to impose a new rule where people caught using mobile while driving would be fined upto 5000 INR and also license would be cancelled. The use of Bluetooth headset or earphone will also be banned in Karnataka state. This rule comes in force after frequent accidents all over India due to using mobile phones while driving.
If you are caught for the first time, then the fine would be Rs 1000/-, second time Rs 5000/- and third time would be Rs5000/- plus cancellation of your license. If you are found driving with headset, the fine is relatively less at Rs 100 and Rs300/- for each time (this fine is applicable only in Karnataka).
It is not sure when this law would be in effect, but it is learned that is recommended by parliamentary committee.
